Description

The "glamour globs" Omega Centauri, M13, 47 Tuc, and maybe M4, can step aside... let's give it up for ...Caldwell 86 (alias ngc6357)

I'm of an age to be familiar with that  60's comedy "Get Smart" and maybe the connection is tenuous at best, but when scrolling around the skyatlas looking for a target away from the full moon I saw "Caldwell 86" and thought "Maxwell Smart Agent 86" instead... anyway, looked far enough from the moon to do some RGB. I dont do Globs much and was surprised this seemed actually a pretty impressive cluster.

Doing some "research" found it's actually quite special...it's the 2nd closest Glob to us after M4 and has undergone a star collapse in the central regions... has around 400,000 stars...Wow!

Anyway, here it is processed in R,G,B in APP, Startools and PS. No luminance as dodging the full moon.
