Description

Amidst the spiral arm of the LMC galaxy lies a tumultuous H II region known as the Tarantula Nebula. 160,000 light years away, its cosmic landscape of star clusters, glowing gas clouds and the scattered remains of supernova explosions are an iconic part of the southern night sky. This nebula was the first I ever saw through a telescope!
