Description

This is my first image of 2021 - 440 60 secs unguided subs on m101 - telescope was a Orion USA 250 F 3.9 - camera a QHY183m and mount an Ioptron CEM60EC - filter Baader 35nm ha.

The night was clear but very humid. In the morning the telescope was very, very wet.

Aquisition and processing with Astroart. A few cosmetics with PS. But image has almost unprocessed. Darks were not so correct, and I have used darks taken in June 2020.

A few words on my shelter:

The telescope and all the equipments, including CCD, have been outside inside my tent since september 2020. In these months we have had heavy rain, wind, cold and also a bit of snow. Yesterday I started up everything, and a part a few troubles on the CCD peltier connection, everything worked perfectly. Highly raccomanded.

The Pinwheel Galaxy (also known as Messier 101, M101 or NGC 5457) is a face-on spiral galaxy 21 million light-years (6.4 megaparsecs) away from Earth in the constellation Ursa Major. It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1781 and was communicated that year to Charles Messier, who verified its position for inclusion in the Messier Catalogue as one of its final entries.
