Description

Abell 55 (PK033-05.1) is an almost never imaged planetary nebula in Aquila. This is the first image on Astrobin. Abell55 is very small oval shaped, measuring only 1.0 arc minutes and has a magnitude listed at 15.4. It shows dimly on the RGB image. The Ha and Oiii signals are of comparable strength, the Oiii somewhat stronger. The outer rim is binary Ha on the top and bottom rim in this image, with Oiii center.

Abell 55 has a very strong resemblance to Abell 54, which I posted yesterday. And they are close together. And they are almost identical in size. What coincidences!

This is everything I could find on the web about this PN. Very obscure.
