Description

This is my first DSO using the ASI071MC-PRO with the 8se. I did some research on the spacing required between the Celeston f/6.3 FR and the camera sensor. Turns out that 105 mm works very well. Stars are much rounder than at shorter spacings (I had tried a shorter spacing the night before.)

I was really pleased with how round and crisp the stars are, and with how little noise the 071MC-PRO generates. It's easy to get great color balance with this camera. I am really enjoying using it.

Obviously, I need some more integration time on this image and hope to get that within the next week or so.

I am starting to wonder if a lot of my old DSLR images with the 8se and f/6.3 FR showed stretched stars at the edges because I had less than 105 mm between the FR and the camera sensor. I really did not know how important it was and had assumed that all I needed was the Celstron T adapter and Canon T-ring.

I'll post a gear setup for this image, and my new way of taking flats , in separate images.

Thanks for looking and clear skies!
