Description

Mayall 2 is a globular cluster of M31. His size is twice as big as Omega Centauri and is in a distance of 2,5 Mio Lj. The size of the cluster is ar. 30" only. He lies in between of two stars from our own milky way and has a magnitude of 13,8. I made serveral trials to get a picture from this remote Globular, because I did not believe, that he is that small. Already the first attempt was right, but I deleted the pictures, because I expected something bigger to see! It is not a eye catcher but he is there! The picture is highly cropped, otherwise you would not find him.
