Description

Catching up on some image processing of photos taken last month, including the grand "Pinwheel" Galaxy (M33). Just under three-million light years away, this galactic system resides in the tiny constellation of Triangulum (and is often called the Triangulum Galaxy). Although barely visible to the naked-eye from the Deerlick Astronomy Village, this image was taken on the evening of October 18th with my RASA 8 telescope. The instrument's ASI294 camera tracked the object for two hours of exposure time, and then was processed using PixInsight, Astra Image, and Photoshop software. Reddish emission and bluish reflection nebulae are clearly visible among the myriad of star-clouds of this galactic neighbor.
