Description

I could not miss Schickard with its varied surroundings and its impressive diameter of 208 kilometers. The ground is covered by dark lava in the north (left) and south (right), while a wide strip in between is covered with lighter material.

The adjacent crater triplet with Wargentin, Nasmyth and Phocylides makes this region almost a dramatic scene. Wargentin in particular fascinates me a lot. Wargentin looks like an overflowed pan to me. And that's exactly what Wargentin is. The impact crater was completely flooded with lava, which poured over the crater rim into the adjacent plateau.

I would have loved to get more out of the images, but the "Quality Graph" from Autostakkert! already showed nothing good. I could only use 200 frames out of 10,000 with a clear conscience. Maybe I was a little too optimistic about using the 2.5x Barlow. Frame rate was 66 fps. Our moon gurus here in the forum would surely get some more sharpness out of the picture. What the hell.

With a gain of 270 and an exposure time of 6.6 ms, I was also a bit too dark. Maybe the focus wasn't optimal either. Seeing was not that bad for my standards here. Maybe I'll try again later with more experience and better skills.

As always, I look forward to recommendations and harsh criticism.
