Description

Sharpless 114 is a complex and unusual HII emission nebula. The filamentary structures resembles a supernova remnant. However, no supernova remnant appears to be recorded for this location...

The wispy structures are likely the result of winds from hot, massive stars interacting with the magnetic fields in the interstellar medium.

For this image I used the H-Alpha data to generate an artifical luminance and to boost the signal in the red channel. Hope you like it :-)
