Description

Nice cluster of galaxies in Coma Berenices. Image taken using ATEO-1 16" Newton Dream Astrograph, f/3.75 from Insight Observatory at SKYPi, NM.

The NGC 4274 barred spiral galaxy is an eye catch, however the NGC 4314 also it does a nice pair. The NGC 4278 elliptical crowns the setup. Also a few other galaxies are around, giving more sense of grandeur of the scene.

RGB images 14/14/14 of 240" each.

This galaxy in particular has the shape of ring structure, and in 1999 presented a Supernova type II event (the highly energetic ones). The so called NGC 4274 group of galaxies form part of the Virgo Supercluster of galaxies.
