Description

Bode Galaxy, about 12 millions light-years away) is a large spiral galaxy in the constellation Ursa Maior. As a circumpolar object is visible (using a simple binoculars) throughout the year. With a 90.000 light-years diameter and 250 billions stars is a little smaller than the Milky Way. M81 is the largest Galaxy in the M81 Galaxy Group, in which there are 34 galaxies including M82 (Cigar Galaxy, whose deformation seems to be due to a collision with M81) and the smaller NGC 3077 (both visible in the photo).
