Description

Sharpless 73 in Hercules was initially thought to be an HII emission nebula (hence it's inclusion in Sharpless' catalogue). It is now known to be a molecular cloud.

Sharpless 73 was imaged between 29 April and 22 May 2020 from an imaging rig in Spain that is privately owned and operated by Barry Wilson and me.

Capture Details:

Telescope: Takahashi FSQ 106

Mount: 10 Micron GM 1000 HPS

Camera: QSI 683

Filters: Astrodon

Lum: 52 x 600s

Red: 24 x 600s

Green: 24 x 600s

Blue: 24 x 600s

Total exposure is 20 hours and 40 minutes.
