Description

This wide field image features IC410, IC417 and NGC1931. IC410 contains the cosmic tadpoles while IC417 and NGC1931 are also know as the Spider and the Fly.

I captured RGB, Ha, OIII and SII but ended up discarding the SII. I used the Ha to enhance the red channel and the OIII to enhance the blue channel which makes the colors in this portrayal more interesting to my eye. The Ha data helped to pull out the faint background nebulosity as well as contributing lot of nebula detail. The OIII data provided more color contrast for IC410. This field has an immense number of stars which made processing challenging.

This was my second outing with the Starizona Apex ED 0.65 focal reducer. It did a great job on this star saturated target.
