Description

This object is a large galaxy cluster located 0.4 billion light years away in the constellation of Orion at a declination of +6 degrees.  All of the galaxies in this image are within 20 million light years of each other.

The brightest galaxy of the cluster, at the bottom center of the image, is VV161c.  This elliptical galaxy is about 90,000 light years in diameter. 

The most interesting galaxy is at the top of the image, the edge-on spiral UGC 3275.  This galaxy is huge at 200,000 light years in diameter.
