Description

This image of the spiral galaxy M99 is a stack of 44 (of 60) x60 second exposures captured from Iluka, Western Australia (Bortle 6) on 4 July 2022. The ASI 294 MC Pro was paired with the 9.25 inch EHD. Seeing was impacted by smoke from 'controlled' bush burning and later low clouds. I debated cropping the bright star but decided to leave it in the image along with its diffraction spikes and secondary mirror reflection (I think) as it adds a sort of balance to the framing. No filters were used , the 1/4 moon was almost set and camera temperature was set at 5'C
