Description

All my pictures yet here at Astrobin are really proofs of concept (plus one lucky happenstance), and this one is the most proof-of-concepty of them all. I wondered what detail could I squeeze off a disc ten pixels or so in diameter; so I captured 3000 frames of the Moon with my then new ToUCam and its original lens, scaled them up ×4, stacked them all and then tried out every deconvolution method that Iris had to offer; Wiener's algorithm yielded the best result. For the point spread function I used an image of Hamal obtained that same evening (although not with the same number of frames).

Also this was, I believe, the first astro image I obtained with a webcam I owned.
