Description

NGC 4038/4039 (Antennae Galaxies)are a pair of interacting galaxies in the constellation Corvus approximately 45 Mly/65 Mly away. Currently the galaxies are going through a starburst period, in which the collision of clouds of dust and gas, with entangled magnetic fields, causes rapid star formation.

The data was captured in Río Hurtado, Chile via the Telescope Live CHI-1 telescope a Planewave CDK24. The telescope is mounted on a Mathis MI-1000/1250 mount. The camera is a FLI ProLine PL9000 using Astrodon 2GEN LRGB filters. The data consists of all data captured between March 2021 and September 2021. The images were stacked/processed in Pixinsight and fine-tuning done in Photoshop by me.
