Description

NGC 4725, the "one-armed galaxy", is an intermediate barred spiral galaxy with a prominent ring structure  41 million light-years away in the constellation Coma Berenices.  While most spiral galaxies, including our own Milky Way, have two or more spiral arms, NGC 4725 has only one. NGC 4725 is a Seyfert Galaxy, suggesting an active galactic nucleus containing a supermassive black hole.

It is magnitude 10.1 and fairly large at 10'7" x 7'6", a little larger than the Black-eye galaxy, M64,  though about 1.5 magnitudes dimmer.
