My first attempt with the OptolongL-Extreme filter.

It is a narrow dual band filter (FWHM 7nm Ha and 7nm OIII) and was specially developed for OSC cameras.

Since OIII addresses green and blue of the Bayer matrix , even useful star colors can be achieved.

Of course, the stars are not perfect and the colors do not stand up to any spectral analysis.

The image was taken on February 25th, 2021 with a full moon. The distance from the moon to NGC2174 was about 42°.

For the short exposure time of 75 minutes, I am surprised by the result.

I cooled the EOS RP to -5 ° chip temperature with a DIY-TEC-cooler.

I think that this result should hardly be achievable with a mono camera with this short exposure time.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
