Description

On this view, the magnificent Gulf of Iris (Sinus Iridum) is known, with its characteristic arc shape.

Below lies a wide dark band, Mare Frigoris, in which sits the radiant crater Harpalus.

Finally, close to the horizon appears the crater Pythagoras, with its high terraced wall and its central peaks here illuminated.

I deliberately reversed the image N/S and E/W, to change the usual vision of the Gulf of Iiris, and to be able to appreciate its structure from another angle.
