Description

This is mainly for the "artistic" group to show a bit of what goes on with 3D LUT. The original color wheel has the hues around the wheel with saturation at the exterior and luminosity the white. This wheel is manipulated (among other tools) and results in the color changes seen in the after... goal is to better separate blues and reds.... move things around to map the L onto the RGB you want.

The starting point was a PixInsight PixelMath image with

R = 0.8*SII + 0.2*Ha

G =0.2*Ha + 0.8*OIII

B=OIII

This is what I use in the Tone Mapping developed by Rick Stevenson.
