Description

The image shows the two beautiful emission nebulae Flaming star and Tadpole in the constellation Auriga. The Flaming star has a distance of about 1,500 lightyears, whereas the Tadpole lies at a distance of roughly 12,000 lightyears. The Tadpole Nebula also surrounds NGC1893, a young star cluster estimated to be 4 million years old. The two objects were imaged from the outskirts of Munich with an Optolong L-eNhance filter.
