Description

IC1396 is an emission nebula located in Cepheus. It includes the very much known Elephant's Trunk Nebula.
It is a really big nebula, with a diameter of 3 degrees it is about 6 times the size of the Moon.
The brightest star visible (up in the right) is μ Cephei, a red hypegiant and one of the largest known stars. Its radius is about 1400 times that of the Sun and it is 100.000 time brighter than out star.
In the first comment I put the same image with Moon as size reference.
