Description

Here we have an attempt at the Sunflower Galaxy, M63, lying about 37 million light years distant in Canes Venatici.

This galaxy is classified at a flocculent spiral and is approximately the size of our Milky Way and contains approximately 400 billion stars.

My object with this one was to try to capture the halo as much as practically possible. This subject is not well placed for me with the omnipresent Phoenix light dome so I was pleased with what I was able to pull out of the L data in that respect.

I tried to incorporate the Hα data I acquired in a reasonable way.  I think I have the propensity to over-do this aspect processing and wind up with an unnatural appearing rendition of the star forming regions.

Anyhow, a fine project done entirely with the fast Newt which I like very much.

CS and be well...
