Description

The constellation of the Cygnus , one of the most beautiful and richest visible in the northern hemisphere, an asterism also called the Northern Cross. Its heart is dominated by the star Sadr (or γ Cygni) immersed in the immense molecular clouds that surround it (although Sadr is not exactly on the same plane), the largest known in the entire Milky Way. Located about 5,000 light years from our solar system, it is one of the most active star-forming areas in our galaxy, with stellar winds and zones of ionized hydrogen forge of young stars. At its center we can admire LDN 889, a dark line that divides the region in two.
