Description

In the path drawn by the asterism of Corona Australis, between the stars ε and γ, lies a complex structure built upon reflection nebulae (NGC 6726), interstellar medium (NGC 6729) mainly illuminated by the variable stars R and T CrA and a relatively large dark cloud (TGU H2213) that is the home of young stellar objects. This dark cloud seems to extend to the east, creating a tail that extends to the Sagittarius region. The globular cluster NGC6723 reveals itself as a jewel on the crown.

This image was captured at the beginning of the nights of the 22th and the 27th of last september, just before and after the passage of the tropical storm Hermine near La Palma (Canary Islands, Spain). Rapidly changing weather conditions, humidity raising like crazy, thin clouds "skidding" with the winds, and the presence of severe airglow complicated things a bit, but luckily enough captures could be rescued for further processing.
