Description

A stack of the Starlink-2 Launch Train of Satellites taken from my backyard on the evening of after sunset on November 12th ~6pm est. The satellites were at their maximum altitude of 41° above the horizon for this pass and were calculated to be 418km away at their closest point. There were a total of 60 satellites that were deployed in this launch and at this time they hadn't yet raised their orbit to their destination where they would be far less visible.

A series of 1s frames were taken at 1 frame every 3 seconds. The data was acquired using a luminance filter on a 135mm f/2 lens at f/2 with an ASI183mm monochrome camera. The location for framing was provided by HeavensAbove.com and acquisition was taken using [N.I.N.A](https://nighttime-imaging.eu) and [ASTAP](https://www.hnsky.org/astap.htm).

For a frame of reference, the stars and extremely faint dark structures in this image (if you can call the noise that) are in the northern side of the milky way including LDN563, 579 and 589

A rather crude video timelapse of the individual images was created and uploaded here:

Processed with PixInsight with the following steps:

* Flat Frame Calibration of each image

* Image Integration using "Maximum" to have all satellites shown on one image.

* Dynamic Background Extraction to remove vignetting from sky glow

* TGV Noise Reduction

* MMT Noise Reduction

* Histogram Stretch

* ACDNR to remove speckled noise

* Slight S curve to bring out the satellites
