      Description

Located in the Constellation Cassiopeia, LDN 1355, together with surrounding dark nebulae LDN 1357 & 1358, formed an interesting view of an extended "helping hand". Right below of the "palm" of the helping hand is a blue reflective nebula VdB 9 illuminated by the star SU Cas. To the right edge of the image there is another reflective nebula VdB 7 with a hint of red & blue, surrounding a variable star RZ Cas. Interestingly, RZ Cas is not the illuminating source for VdB 7; it was rather illuminated by a much dimmer 11th mag star nearby.
