Description

Since the clouds were rolling in, but moon was still visible, I just slewed the scope to the moon and made a quick sequence. At least one image for this night

On the right side you see "Rima Hyginus" which is roughly 220 km long and only 4 km wide. On the left there is the network of "Rima Triesnecker" which scales 200 km x 2 km

The smallest structures identifiable in the image are approx. 600 m which equals 0.3 arcsec.

Update 2021-04-08, Revision B:

The article "THE DARK-SPOTTED MOON" ('Astronomy Now', 04/2021, Nigel Longshow) used this image for showing a very interesting phenomena: The dark spots which indicate violent, eruptive activities, where lava material was errupted.

Description: Unexpected detail:
Based on an article printed in "Astronomy Now" 04/2021, "THE DARK-SPOTTED MOON", Nigel Longshaw, publishing this image I became aware of this tiny but very interesting detail I was not aware of: A small dark area which indicate lava material which was violently erupted.
I highly recommend the article.
