Description

Having been convinced Mono is for me with my ASI294mm, I decided to go all in and sell my colour QHY268c and get the mono APS-C equivalent ASI2600mm.

The new camera is true to it's word in having zero amp glow and the narrowband flats look normal unlike the wiggly shading that dominates HA and SII flats on the ASI294mm... that said I've never had any trouble calibrating out either.

The extra FOV real estate is nice, but I have a bit of work to do to get up to speed. Not sure my seeing for this image is up to the smaller pixel size of the 2600mm compared to the 294mm. Some moon glow degradation in play as well I think.

It's nice to have more resolution even if it's only to spend to gain signal to noise in Startools Bin function (as I have here 0.7x).

Stacked and combined in APP mapping Ha, OIII, and SII in SHO and adding both OIII and SII as 80% green.

Then separately processed and combined the Ha OIII and SII layers in startools also in SHO. Finalised in PS CC.
