Description

Imaged Mars in OSC RGB on the morning of November 4, 2020 with average seeing and transparency. Now a month past opposition, Mars was showing a disc 19.5 arcsecs in diameter at magnitude of -2.0. Prominent dark albedo features include Mare Acidalium (along the meridian to the north), Aurora Sinus (to the left and south of the meridian) and Sinus Meridiani (to the right and south of the meridian).

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader UV-IR Cut filter, and ZWO ASI224MC. Imaging train was configured to give ~F/20 (~0.18 arcsec/pixel). Image capture using Firecapture with gain set at 275 and an exposure of 2.75 ms. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 5% of ~70,000 frames captured over 240 seconds). Color balancing and Wavelet sharpening in Registax6. De-rotated and combined 3 images in Winjupos.
