Description

A brief astrophotography session on the first day of a new year, featuring several prominent winter deep-sky objects. Besides the famous Rosette Nebula and Christmas Tree Cluster, a number of tiny objects can be spotted here as well, such as Hubble's Variable Nebula (NGC 2261). During the processing, a weird comet-like dust patch located in the vicinity of the star 13 Mon and IC 488 attracted my attention. It appeared that it was a comet indeed (4P/Faye).

Images were taken with my mobile setup based on a SW AZGTi mount and ASIAIR Pro. Only 32 min integration time was used since it was too cold and windy for me to tolerate any longer stay outside. Furthermore, I wanted to take images of James Webb Space Telescope same time and successfully did it.

Size 100%, lens was set to f/2.8, data acquisition time around 20:15-20:45 UT.

Happy New Year, Astrobin!
I wish clear skies and good seeing to everyone!
