Description

Everyone and their dog seems to be imaging this at the moment so who am I to argue? Pity I couldn't get at this a week or so ago when there wasn't a spotlight of a moon to spoil things but as it was a touch gusty last night for long subs it was a 'why not?' moment.
As this comet is a real speed demon I used the Orbitals plugin to track the comet nucleus and then collected extra data at sidereal rate to get un-trailed stars. Data was mono RGB with 120s subs. Copious use of StarXTerminator to get comet-only image and stars-only images before combining. Only the slightest hint of the ion trail but then that's what the moon washes out first. Alot of the dust tail has more red than I expected but I suppose that could be the atmosphere putting its oar in as it wasn't exactly overhead.
