Description

Still figuring out my new camera. The background is highly mottled and am trying to understand why it is so and how to remove it. If anyone has any ideas on how to separate nebulosity from the background using GIMP, would love to hear how, I will be able to fix the background then.

This is an amazing object, something that can be seen with the naked eye even in a bortle 7/8 sky. These Greek ladies are one of the closest Messier objects to us, although there is still a raging debate as to the exact distance - quite important as they are used as a benchmark to measure distances for other objects.

I pointed these out to friends the other week and gave them binoculars to use to view, I absolutely loved their reactions.

Its amazing just how little time we spend looking up, there are sooo many wonders if we just look!
