Description

I started this image thinking I was going to capture NGC 1042 (the nice spiral). When I saw it well paired with an elliptical, I thought it a bit odd and nice at the same time. I decided to expand the field a bit. Then I saw the "smudge" to the left of NGC 1042 nearer to the bright field star. Dreading that it might be a dust mote, I searched other images and found out this object (and another in the image) were actually the first 2 galaxies found to have almost NO dark matter! Both rare galaxies are in the same field no less! Anyway, now I just really enjoy this field. I've left the background a bit high so the dark matter poor galaxies can be more easily seen. Enjoy.
