Description

Discovered by William Herschel in 1758, NGC 4565 (Needle Galaxy), is an edge-on spiral galaxy located in the constellation Coma Berenices. It is estimated 30,000 light-years from Earth and approximately 140,000 light-years in diameter. It is also calculated to have a population of 1 trillion stars.
