Description

Hand of God CG4 is a cometary globule located in the constellation Puppis around 1,400 light-years away from Earth. The head is around 1.5 light-years in diameter and is actually opaque but glows because it is illuminated by very hot stars. It also shows a faint red glow at the end from excited hydrogen and almost seems like it's about to devour an edge-on galaxy to the left.
