Description

Here's a lucky catch from last night: the emission nebula NGC7822 in Cepheus. This nebula is a young star-forming complex featuring gas formations called cold molecular pillars that are similar to those of the famed Pillars of Creation.
It was supposed to rain, instead, the sky was quite clear with some occasional low clouds and gusts of wind. I had to stop the acquisition a few times and in the end, I managed to take 1h with the Ha filter and 30 minutes with each R and B filters. I've tried to process the data as Ha-RGB but I'm not very happy with the result, so for now I'm publishing the monochrome Ha data, I love the contrast and the detail that the black and white provides - I'm kind of regretting I didn't use the time spent on the R and B filters for more Ha data!
