Description

Lower's Nebula is an emission nebula in the constellation Orion located approximately 3000 light years from our solar system. It was discovered in 1939 by Harold and Charles Lower.

This is a faint target which I have struggle with in the past. This iteration is based around
LRGB with enhancements from Ha and OIII data. I used Ha to enhance the red channel and OIII to enhance the Green and Blue channels. I also took some shorter exposures for the stars and used HDR to preserve their colors without blowing them out. I used masking to preserve the star colors when making my enhancements. With the OIII data I was able to pull an interesting structure from the center of the nebula.
