Description

Abell 26 (PK250.3+0.1) is an almost never imaged planetary nebula in Puppis. This is the second image on Astrobin. Abell26 is exceptionally small, measuring 0.7 arc minutes and very faint, with a magnitude listed at 18.2. It shows nothing on the RGB image. The Ha forms a stronger ring around a collection of Oiii balls in the central region. There is no sign of a central progenitor star.

This target is a particular challenge for me since it transits at 21 degrees. So I ended up needing to discard most of the subs I took, leaving only a small number of usable subs.

My Abell Collection is here:

Currently 60+, and soon to be complete.
