Description

In 2019 I had the privilege to visit La Palma (Canary Islands) and capture some wide field and landscape astrophotographies. This is one of those, reprocessed in 2021 with new techniques.

Last months there have been several improvements in the processing programmes such as Pixinsight. An example is the Starnet tool: a game changer...

Image description:

This huge star forming area has different types of nebulae. The blue regions reflect the light, while the red and yellow regions are part of emission nebulae. This image was captured using a regular DSLR camera, not modified for astronomy use, and a zoom lens.

Lights: 25x120" 2000ISO f/4.5

Mount: SW Star Adventurer

TOTAL exposure time: 49'15"

Data acquisition 2019.

Location: Fuencaliente, La Palma (Spain).

No calibration frames.

Software used: Lightroom, Astro Pixel Processor and Pixinsight.
