Description

After completing a number of runs on Jupiter, with very good seeing, I swung across to Saturn as the morning sky was brightening rapidly. I rushed to get 3 RGB runs in before the light became overwhelming. It was clear from the feed just how good the seeing was.

When I processed the image it was naturally swamped with blue light from the morning sky. I corrected the colour of the planet, but decided to retain the background hue and brightness, rather than moving the black point to remove it.

There is something grand, is there not, looking through our beautiful blue atmosphere across 1.5 billion kms of space to this stunning ringed planet in the outer reaches of the solar system?
