Description

Obtained the image over 3 nights. Used the same processing features as used for M104, and I like the result as well. Did here and there some minor mistakes, but I spent already a lot of time on it, hence I post it now, knowing that there will be another processing trial coming up.

M63 is for me a great galaxy since one can see a lot of details, even at a distance of 29.3 Million LJs. I always like the information about real sizes. With an apparent view of 12′.6 × 7′.2 its dimension is 107,000 x 61,000 LJs (equation: δ = 2π * distance / 360 / 60 * apparent size in arc minutes), being close in size to our Milky Way. What a view of our Milky Way it would be if you would live on a planet inside M63!
