Description

Learning how to capture and process a comet! @Adam Block's new comet tutorials and the updated CometAlignment PI process have been extremely helpful.

For this image, I captured ~100 90-second OSC frames in relatively poor seeing and average transparency conditions. Ended up using about 60% during Image Integration for a cleaner result.

My high-level workflow:
- Calibrated with WBPP
- Extracted stars-only image w/SXT and processed separately
- Extracted comet-only images with SXT batch processing
- Comet Alignment and Image Integration of comet-only images, processed resulting image
- Merged two images with Pixel Math, cleaned up

I'm also working with a fresh RGB set captured by my mono cam using fewer, longer subs. Will post that one if it turns out well.

Description: Reprocessed so that stars-only image was generated using comet rejection (comet alignment + local normalization + image integration), which picked up at least one galaxy in the background. Adjusted comet's color saturation using white balance levels from SPCC on stars-only image.
