🌌 The ark of the night 🌌

Many of you chose this title; thank you very much for contributing! 👍

This night of June 5 was rather cool in Queyras but that did not prevent us from bivouacking on the shores of Lac de Souliers!

Indeed, the temperature was negative and the lake still frozen!

The view from the Tronchet ridge (2600m above sea level) is exceptional and I had wanted to take this photograph for a while.

At this time of year, access is easy: 2.5km of walking for 300m of vertical drop.

I wanted this photo to be read as follows:

1⃣ My companion in Chinese shadow indicates the starting point.

2⃣ His arms in the air invites us to follow the arch of the Milky Way which ends on the crests of Oules.

3⃣ From there, we walk on the other ridges passing by the peak of Rochebrune, still quite snow-covered.

4⃣ We fall back around our starting point with this green color visible on the horizon; this is the natural phenomenon called airglow.

If not, have you spotted Lac de Souliers (still frozen) in the photo? 🤔
