Description

This is an animation of ~45 minutes of Comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE right around its peak on July 18th, 2020, shot from my yard north of Flagstaff, Arizona.

(Update) After watching this a few times at high magnification, I realized there is some detail in the ion tail that is moving left to right with the solar wind, which is cool!

It is interesting to watch the fading sunlight at first and then the color change towards the end as the comet nears the horizon. Numerous passing thin clouds, a plane and some satellites also pass through the field.

I have a stacked and processed version of this here https://www.astrobin.com/2nedbo/?nc=user

There is a small galaxy, NGC 2841 visible on the top right of the video.
