Description

The Leo Triplet is a group of interacting spiral galaxies in the constellation Leo. The group consists of the galaxies Messier 65, Messier 66, and NGC 3628, which is also known as the Hamburg Galaxy. The Leo Triplet lies at a distance of about 35 million light-years from Earth. A special feature is the star tail of NGC 3628, which does not fit into the image field due to its length. Despite the long exposure time, only hints of it are visible.
