Description

NGC 7822 is a young star forming complex in the constellation of Cepheus. The complex encompasses the emission region designated Sharpless 171, also known as the teddy bear nebula. It is an emission nebula with elephant trunks, or pillars, carved by stellar winds of the hot bright stars within the nebula. Also visible is the open cluster NGC 7762.
