Description

My apologies, the title is somewhat misleading. You will not see a massive looming (and rarely featured) galaxy. You will see M81 and M82 - which I very much am fond of as well. 🙂

However if you look very closely you will see NGC 2976 in the lower left. NGC 2976 is a great little DSO. From Skysafari - NGC 2976 is a 10th magnitude Spiral Galaxy @ 12 million light years from our solar system. Its morphological type is Sc.

Of course, my original purpose was to try Bode's nebula, but I found this guy in my subs, and was intrigued. 🙂

The SV70 doesn't have the reach of a C11edge, ha ha. My Rig is only 336mm (reduced), and so coupled with an APS-C sized chip allows me to provide a wide view within galaxy rich zones. Ursa is surprisingly rich!

Thanks for looking.

Description: In this revision I have tried to give a more natural feel to the background of normal space in this region - which is also very famous for its IFN. While I don't have any IFN in this image, I think this background is better, perhaps more realistic vs the original.
Cheers - I
