Description

IC 63 is an emission nebula located around 600 light years away in the constellation of Cassiopeia. It is ionized by the nearby (3-4 light years) Gamma Cas, whose faint blue glow can be seen in the upper right corner. IC 63 has been called the 'Ghost' for obvious reasons.

IC 63 was photographed between 25 August and 27 September 2019 from a remote imaging rig that is jointly owned and operated by Barry Wilson and me.
